Privacy policy

Floorwork is a pelvic floor exercise app for iPhone. Your training stays on your iPhone. The only feature that uses the internet is Friends, and it is off until you invite or join a friend.

What we collect

If you never use Friends, nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app contains no third-party SDKs that collect data.

If you use Friends, see the Friends section below for the little it keeps.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you enter is stored only on your iPhone: your programme settings, session history, weekly check-ins, safety-check answers and reminder times. None of it leaves the device.

It is deleted when you delete the app. You can also delete it at any time with Erase everything in Settings.

Reminders

Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your iPhone. No server is involved.

Friends

Friends lets you and people you invite see when one of you finishes a session. It starts only when you invite or join a friend in Settings. You send invites yourself, through the iPhone share sheet (Messages, WhatsApp, Mail and so on); Floorwork does not see who you send them to.

While you use Friends, our server keeps:

• the first name you enter, which your friends see;
• a random device identifier and a hashed key that lets your iPhone prove it is the same device (no account, email or phone number);
• a push notification address for your iPhone, issued by Apple and Expo, so friends' sessions can reach you;
• who your friends are, and whether friend notifications are on;
• invite codes, which expire after 14 days.

When you finish a session, the app tells the server, which sends each friend a notification reading "[your first name] did their Floorwork session". The server does not store your sessions, their times, your programme, check-ins or safety answers; that health information stays on your iPhone. Your iPhone's internet address is seen by the server when it connects, as with any website. It is not stored, except as a one-way scrambled value used to limit how many devices can sign up from one address in a day, deleted the next day.

The server is a Cloudflare Worker with a Cloudflare D1 database located in western Europe. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple Push Notification service. Cloudflare and Expo act as our processors.

We use this data only to run Friends. Because using a pelvic floor app can say something about your health, we rely on your consent, which you give by inviting or joining a friend and can withdraw at any time. To delete it, choose Turn off Friends or Erase everything in Settings: your device, friendships and codes are removed from the server at once. If you delete the app without doing that, email us and we will delete them.

Health information

Your answers about symptoms and progress are health information. The app does not send them anywhere, including Apple Health and iCloud. Friends only ever learns that a session was finished.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the Friends data we hold about you, or for its correction or deletion, by emailing us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Floorwork is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change.
